A beautiful diamond and moissanite band and engagement ring.
What’s the difference between a diamond and a moissanite?
The Brilliance in a Moissanite is a 2.691 while a Diamond is only a 2.417.
The Durability / Scratch Resistance on a Moissanite is a 10.00 while a Diamond is a 9.25. And the cost difference a Moissanite is about $400 per carat while I diamond is about $4000 per carat. However a moissanite is grown in a lab while diamonds are naturally grown.
It was first discovered by Henri Moissan in 1893 while excavating a crater and found the crystals. However they are very rare so he decides to try to recreate it in a lab but wasn’t successful. It wasn’t till the late 1990’s that it was finally able to be put out on the market.
Moissanites make a great diamond alternative because they are white gems, have lots of sparkle, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. We like that the option of moissanite gives our clients more freedom to choose intricate custom setting designs and larger than average looking center gems without breaking the bank.
Diamond simulants can be challenging to tell from authentic diamonds or moissanites, especially when they are cut exceptionally well. Glamour Life diamonds offers plenty of high-quality diamond simulant products to choose from, making them great options for people that are in need of high flash for low cash. . . . . . #diamonds #moissanite #engagementring #sparkles #sparkleyjewelry
